What is a Chamber of Commerce?
A Chamber is a nonprofit, membership-based business association that provides networking, education, marketing, and advocacy services for its members.

Where is The Haitian American Chamber of Commerce Inc. located?
The Haitian American Chamber is conveniently located near downtown Fort Lauderdale and I-95 in the middle of Broward county. The address is 3472 NE 5th Avenue Unit 8, Oakland Park, FL 33344.

How many members does the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce Inc. have?
The Haitian American Chamber has more than 300 members with representation from every business segment – Corporate, Industrial, Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, Hospitality, Artists, Writers, and others.

Why are the prices for Chamber membership not listed online?
We do not list the membership investment rates online because we offer several levels with different “bundles of value.” We allow the business to choose. We prefer to get to know you and your needs and who you are looking to gain as a client.

How do I become a member of the Chamber?
Joining The Haitian American Chamber is easy. All you need to do is complete the online membership application or contact info@haamcc.com for more information. A Business Development Director will then reach out to you with more information.

How is the Chamber Funded?
The Haitian American Chamber funds their operations via multiple sources, including dues from members, professional services contracts with multiple entities, special events, sponsorships, services, facility rental and more.

What is the Federal Tax Status of the Haitian American Chamber?
The Haitian American Chamber is a 501(c)(6) organization under the Internal Revenue Code. IRC Section 501(c)(6) is reserved for business leagues, chambers of commerce, boards of trade, or other similar organizations.

Is the Haitian American Chamber a part of local government?
No. While the Chamber works closely with the cities of Oakland Park, City of Miramar, and Broward and Palm Beach Counties on matters of policy and to create a positive business environment, the Chamber is not part of the government.

When does “the Chamber” meet?
With 9 committes, this brings 9 Board of Directors meetings which are held monthly. The Chamber also schedules a monthly Business After Hours for members to mix and mingle. In addition, the Chamber hosts a variety of special events including Pink Noire in October, Annual Meeting, Broward Update, Spirit of Hospitality Awards, Hospitality and Healthcare Expo, and Jazz and Artistic Expressions in December.

Other than events, what does the Chamber do?
The Chamber provides members with numerous marketing benefits as well as serving as an advocate for businesses. The chamber acts as a vehicle to get you in front of the community. It also offers education for businesses and gets you connected to the business community.

Does your business have to be located in Broward or Palm Beach County to join the Chamber?
No. Chamber membership is open to any business that has an interest in the area. Businesses located within and outside of Broward County receive the same benefits. They develop professional contacts within the membership and their products and services are promoted to their fellow members and to residents of the community.

We don’t do business locally so why should I be a part of the Chamber?
You may not sell your product or service locally, but if you operate your business or looking to connect with our platform (Haitian Talents and Businesses) here and that affects your bottom line. The Chamber works in many ways to develop the communities as a good place to operate a profitable business.  The Chamber can help you stay informed and give you a voice on these types of issues.

Can the chamber provide a business with a list of companies who are part of the chamber already?
To find a list of companies who are members of our chamber and are in a specific industry or who provide a certain service, please visit our Business Directory. Once there you can search by category, howeever we do .

What advertising opportunities does the Chamber provide?
Members have exclusive opportunities to advertise in the monthly newsletter, which is emailed to over 2,500 members and civic leaders
on the Chamber website, which includes a searchable business directory with comprehensive information about our members
on our social media pages, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok.

How can I file a complaint about a business or company?
The Haitian American Chamber is not a government agency, and therefore has no authority to investigate how companies conduct business nor are we able to accept complaints.

Can you give information about starting a business?
