Artist Talk for ANN APRESYE ZEV ATIS AYISYEN: Haitian Art Exhibition

Join us as we learn more from the Artists regarding celebrating the exploration and synthesis of national symbols, daily activities, social denunciations and religious traditions, this exhibition demonstrates the universal scope of Haitian art.

In celebration of Haitian Heritage month, Pompano Beach Arts and the Latin American Arts Pavilion (LAAP) will host an exhibition entitled Let’s Appreciate The Works of Haitian Artists ANN APRESYE ZEV ATIS AYISYEN (creole translation).

Speakers include

  • Ines Lozano is the founder of Flying High 4 Haiti, a non-profit organization that takes its name from the Haitian children who enjoy making kites from sticks and discarded plastics. Flying High 4 Haiti aims to empower communities through sustainable development by providing access to educational opportunities.

 

  • Dr. Yinka Tella is an author, scholar, student services professional, political activist, and journalist who will discuss the commonality of cultural heritage and historical authenticity between Haitians and Africans. Dr. Tella will highlight the significance of the Yoruba mystique as a creative muse for Haitian artistic, spiritual, and cultural expression
