Modeled after insights gained from the Military-Industrial complex during the Cold War era, Silicon Valley, and inclusive economic development strategies, the mission of FIU’s IP2Mkt Initiative is to grow South Florida’s innovation economy and beyond inclusively.

Powered by Golden Technologies, Inc, DiverseTech is a consortium business led by Benalytics Consulting Group, LLC that seeks to exploit the diversity of technologies borne from Federally Funded Research and Development Centers to catalyze growth of small businesses near diverse communities and universities. With Support from the National Nuclear Security Administration, a prototype of programming is launched in South Florida with the intent to expand nationwide.

DiverseTechSM is a consortium of venture creation services providers. Our core focus lies in designing and implementing customized technology transfer, commercialization, and innovation ecosystem programs. Through a series of carefully crafted developmental business initiatives, our aim is to empower entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, including minority, women, and other disadvantaged community members, to make significant contributions within high-growth technology sectors.

At the helm of DiverseTechSM are Charles G. Atkinson, J. Chris Ford, Ph.D., and Bernard H. Coleman, Esq., who also serve as the founding members of their respective companies, Benalytics Consulting Group, LLC, Golden Technologies, Inc., and Stellaron Dynamics, Inc. Their leadership and expertise contribute to the success and impact of DiverseTechSM in fostering entrepreneurship and driving positive change within high-growth industries. Our Prime Contractor, Benalytics Consulting Group, LLC, is an SBA 8(a) certified company which allows for straightforward procurement. Each team member of DiverseTechSM is described next.

Key Presenter: Jahleel Hudson | Director, NNSA Technology and Partnerships Office

Jahleel Hudson is the Director of the Technology and Partnerships Office within the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Defense Programs. In this role, Jahleel oversees Planetary Defense and Academic Programs, facilitating Technology Insertion and Technology transfer, including partnerships and collaborations, research security, and foreign engagements at the NNSA labs, plants, and sites. Throughout his career in technology transfer, Jahleel has been responsible for creating and funding numerous innovative programs at NNSA to facilitate technology transfer at the national labs, plants, and sites. These programs provided federal funding to mature technologies and found avenues for commercialization for others. Jahleel partnered with Emory University School of Law, where participating students create commercialization plans using NNSA cutting-edge technologies as the case study. Jahleel is also committed to implementing the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion into the technology transfer landscape and beyond. He created the Inspiring Diversity in Entrepreneurial Activates, or “IDEA” Seminar to specifically tackle the issue of the limited amounts of diversity within technology partners.

Before his time in technology transfer, Jahleel held positions deep within the weapons program. He was a Program Manager for research and development for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile and Cruise Missile programs, a Program Lead for the nuclear weapon annual assessment process, and the executive action office for the Nuclear Weapons Council. Jahleel is a recipient of the prestigious Defense Programs Award of Excellence for his work supporting the nuclear stockpile. He is a mechanical engineering graduate of Howard University.

Key Presenter: David Kistin | Manager, Technology and Economic Development, Sandia National Laboratories

As part of Sandia’s Technology Partnerships program, David and his team lead several programs that leverage the people, technologies, and facilities of the Labs in support of regional economic development. These include the Sandia Science & Technology Park, the New Mexico Small Business Assistance program, the Technology Readiness Initiative, the Center for Collaboration and Commercialization, and Entrepreneur Separation to Transfer Technology. He currently serves as chair of the New Mexico Tech Council and vice chair for the Federal Laboratory Consortium.
